Start A Cleaning Company In Zimbabwe

Cleaning: Dirty Business That Pays

Have you considered investing in or starting a cleaning company in Zimbabwe?

This article will show you how to go about setting up your new business and give you a few ideas on how to make it successful.

It’s ‘dirty business’ but it’s got great potential for decent returns from a small investment and the cash flow can be very attractive as many clients require the service on a regularly reoccurring basis.

Listen, for as long as there are people in Zimbabwe, there will be dirt, and for as long as there is dirt, there will be need for cleaners. Few industries in Zimbabwe are as easy to get into and present as many overlooked opportunities as the professional cleaning business.

The cleaning industry in Zimbabwe is made up primarily of two main target markets: Commercial and Consumer.

The Consumer market consists mainly of Maid services, carpet cleaners, window cleaners and a variety of other minor services but all usually on a less frequent basis than you’ll find on the commercial front.

The commercial market in Zimbabwe also includes carpet and window cleaners, but is also characterized by janitorial services, floor cleaners and even waste disposal to a degree. If you’re going to start a cleaning business in Zimbabwe it’s important to determine which market you’ll be targeting primarily (or exclusively).

However even once you’ve chosen between the consumer and commercial markets, there are other specialized niches that can narrow your choice down even further.

Types of cleaning businesses you can start in Zimbabwe

  • Carpet cleaners
  • Floor cleaners
  • Pool Cleaners
  • Window cleaners
  • Car cleaners
  • Dry cleaning (clothes)
  • Janitorial services
  • Maid services

As with any service business credibility and customer service is all important. Often a cleaner will be left in a home or office unmonitored, so it’s important that customers can trust you and your staff to not steal or damage any valuables.

Two good ways to quickly gain some credibility while you wait to develop a good brand name are to have a properly registered company and to invest in effective marketing material.

  3. I currently run a cleaning business in Scotland, i have been in the business since 2008.

The business requires some savy out of of the box marketing technics. The best thing to start from is to be flexible with your areas of cleaning. You need to be mobile, preferably with a small van which would greatly aid your advertising and brand awareness if you put posters or your logo and contacts on the side, killing two birds with one stone.

You need hard working and honest staff, i know in Zimbabwe getting a police record for your employees can be quite strainious but its worthwhile in the long run. You also need to get references that you actually follow up.

We interview our staff in their homes, the added advantage is that you get to see how they keep their own house!

My business website is http://www.trystcleaners.co.uk , drop me a line if you need further info.
